Happy Plant LIfe

TikTok | Seattle, WA

Project overview

TikTok’s Bellevue HQ sought to infuse its office with elements of wellness, creativity, and nature, aligning with the company’s growing interest in biophilic design. A collaboration with Pippi & Lola—a women-led, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ plant design company—was initiated to create a plant installation that brought life into the workspace. My role was to design and paint a mural that harmonized with this living plant wall, creating a cohesive experience.

My Role

As the Creative Custom Designer and Mural Artist, I was commissioned to design a mural that would act as a visual and thematic extension of Pippi & Lola’s lush installation. The goal was to develop a space that promoted self-care, calm, creativity, and connection—mirroring TikTok’s internal values and aesthetic identity.

My Process

  • Collaborated directly with Pippi & Lola to understand the color palette, flow, and plant curation strategy.

  • Created a vibrant mural design that mirrors organic shapes and elements found in the Pacific Northwest, while staying on-brand for TikTok.

  • Used calming, nature-inspired tones and abstract patterns that visually connect with vines, leaves, and greenery.

  • Painted the mural to subtly complement the plant wall—enhancing its lush presence without overpowering it.

  • Designed with intention to encourage mindfulness, evoke joy, and support the wellness goals of the space.

Results

The final installation is a visually immersive, biophilic experience—a seamless fusion of art and nature. It has become a tranquil yet energizing zone in TikTok’s office that invites employees to pause, breathe, and reconnect. The mural, paired with Pippi & Lola’s vibrant plant design, reflects TikTok’s investment in community-building, creativity, and inclusive collaboration.
